Robs car is likely to be making 450bhp per tonne AT THE WHEELS next time you are going to see it.
To make the same power to weight ratio at the wheels even a stripped out 1200kg cossie would need 540 at the wheels, thats going to need 700bhp @ the flywheel roughly.
Obviously more to life than just power to weight (hence i think its only in the middle section he would beat a 600bhp cossie)

Nige - you're in the minority here mate.
I absolutely detest Mk2 Astras (and most Vauxhalls really), but you can't deny a fast car, and that is a very fast car!
Therefore, because I like fast cars, I'm interested in it - pretty simple, and I think it applies to most people on here.
That's what's so good aboutn this site - car enthusiasts appreciate the merits of all good cars, be they fast, good handling etc, and recognise the flaws in their own choice of vehicle, and are not blinkered by the fact that they might own said vehicle.

His grips far better than you would expect it to i suspect, but certainly off the line you will pull a good few cars lead on him, even with only your old spec that would still be the case.
You do realise though that a good FWD 60ft time on road tyres is about 2.0-2.1 and a good 4wd time is around 1.6-1.7, so you arent even talking half a second head start in reality?

Ive been going on and off for about a dozen years now and havent really noticed any difference to the people there, its always been massively varied and still is.
Think your sister was there last night (white saph) too, so obviously its just you that has an issue with the people who go

Rob actually enjoys getting beaten by anything in his astra, as its such a rare occurance it makes a nice change, i think thats true of most people with fast cars, its always nice to meet someone even faster

Its VERY stripped out, to the point most wouldnt consider it a road car, but Rob likes that sort of thing.
I guess compared to a nuclear submarine its quite luxurious
He used to run around with it mainly with one seat in, but he fitted a second one for TOTB as he was worried he would get accused of not having a road car, so he actually put weight INTO his car for the competition PMSL

PS
dont blame you for hating vauxhall nige, in the main they are nasty rusty pieces of chav-piloted crap
They just happen to be good for chucking 2.0 16v turbo engines into easily
Only redeeming feature really, well that and they are cheap and simple.
Bit like fords really!
