Oi durbrain , firstly I offered my ECU NOT chip, as unlike you, I obviously realise that using someone else's chip in a different spec engine, would not be a good idea ! Secondly, I have not had an engine melt since Trevs Top Speed day way back when I was running a T4, 7.7 c/r and four light blues in my Sapphire .

Anyway, you do have some times remember, its Mike R's "old saff " the fact its had "5 new handles and 6 new heads" doesnt matter "that car" did 180+

How come your not running Porkie??????? Get some 26" chromes from west coast customs on the 3 dr, you car should manage about 300mph due to the new gearing on those wheels

We tried a launch with a Quaife box in Martins car. It lasted 3.21cm's....

I have more power. It doesn't take a genius to work out what would happen the first time I dumped the clutch in anger.

I'm not really into drag racing either to be honest. Prefer my trackdays

hahahah HONESTLY Stu, I didn't mean it to sound like that

His new engine is a total monster though. It will make mine look like a baby once it reaches its final spec and is sitting back in car 57.

Are you going to be free one night to det check the Sierra by the way and see if it needs any adjusting? She is almost ready to disco

Would have to be pretty fancy to moniter the exact torque loadings the gearbox can take at any precise second before it breaks!

I could do baby launches and then let her rip in higher gears BUT I'm of the opinion that you do something 101% or not at all. We have gone to events half cocked before and its just not worth it.

Prefer to sit on top of the party bus which is the BEST position by a mile as Stu will tell you and watch a great event unfold without any stress. Whilst drinking a 'nice' few beers

Car is built for trackdays not this kind of event really. Thats my thing and I want to make sure it makes National day and Trax.

hairy muff mate

limited boost in first would not be too hard to do, but like you say it's best to wait until you've got a setup that will take full punishment.

Exactly... There was a last minute plan after the Gumball to put Martins R&D box in the Sierra and then go to TOTB. But he sold it, so the mission was aborted.
