Default Right, I've got a dilemma RE: buying a Focus...... HELP!

Right, what it is, is that I've applied for a 5k loan. Sick of driving beat up old cars and want something that will entertain me somewhat.

Now, I was going to build a Saff from this winter onwards but I was unable to get my hands on a council lock up sp with no garage to use, that idea is a no go.

I really like the Focus and am thinking about buying a 2.0 Zetec and tinkering with the engine over the next 12 months to get a bit of poke out of it.

Then I got to thinking..... The costs of Cossie ownership would probably be out of my league if I'm realistic, so perhaps I should get the cash (if they deffo give me it!) and bang it in a savings account til I get my 1st year's no claims in 6 months time, then buy an ST170?

Obviously I'll need a little more than 5k but you hopefully see what I mean.

And before anyone tells me to buy an RST cause the ST170 is slow etc, I'll tell you straight away not to bother lol. Just want a newer car that I can enjoy for a few years while I save up for that Escos

PS what is the 170 like for tuning?

Ta!

You want to BORROW 5K (presumably paying interest on the loan) and then put it in an account to earn interest?

I'm not looking to borrow it to put it in an account, I'm looking to borrow it to buy a car! I thought that was pretty clear. I was just going to buy a 2.0 Zetec but then thought I might be better saving it 6 months til I get my no claims and can insure an ST170.

Borrow the £5k in 6 months you mean Yes???

Dont forget when you request a loan they will credit check you & it leaves a footprint for the next application.
