Default Tyre size for 170mph

What tyre size do you need to do 170mph in a 2wd cossie @ 7000rpm ?

Will a 215/40/17 be big enough ?

What speed would you get with a 215/45/17 ?

Thanks Steve.

Steve,
Engine was COMPLETELY standard, just 4x4 pistons, which when combined with 2wd head gives a drop in compression of 7.8:1. It only revved to 6550rpm on this run as well , no point in revving any further as this was where power started to tail off quite considerably...

I spent a lot of time getting the gearing just spot on for this engine, and it used a different CWP to standard .

Phil,
Not one of my cars has ever run on four star, so get your facts right .

Dan,
Okay, so it was mapped to hold 26psi .

Amazing amount of torque

What gearing was you running ?

How can you run 26lbs on greens ? mine starts to go lean over 22lbs

Because it was live mapped on an engine dyno by someone who knows what they are doing and Ahmed put multipliers in to get the ECU to truly max out the injectors, which were running at 95% duty cycle .

It was running 3.36 gearing , and pulled it like it wasn't any different .
