You talking about fitting just the bare motor (I have a couple tucked away) or the
assembly complete on the gearbox/rack?

What bit you stuck with?
The motor sits outside the door, remember, and if your'e changing from manual, you need to drill the rivets out on the old rack, and rivet/bolt in the new one, yes?
Should fit easy then.

Yup i know the motor sits outside the door and ive drilled/removed the entire winder assembly out.
The 5 door (leccy) assembly goes in fine, motor sitting central(ish) of the door and all the screw holes line up perfectly etc.
However ive got some 3 door ones to fit(as its a 3 door and the 5 doors werent raising/lowering the window properly) and obviously there alot bigger and theres no way in hell the motor sits centrally and i cant seem to find a place on the door where the screw holes line up etc, hence a picture would be useful

I think the frame uses different mounting points on the doors when you use the electric rack .. I did mine, but was quite a while back. Sure they arent covered by tape?

Just offer it up .. It should come right and show you where the holes are.

Ok this is driving me nuts! The five door units fit nicely right in the centre of the door frame but i cant work out where the hell these 3 door ones fit. There straight out an xr3i so i assume they should fit a bog standard 3 door car no problem  As you can see when the whole units in the full down position, its as long as the bloomin door tho i assume the regulator would stop it getting this far!? Im so damn confused, the internal door (skins?) werent different on different models were they? as said the 5 door units will bolt in fine but there not strong enuf

and i realise im holding the unit the wrong way round(motor should be facing me)
