Prokie (despite not knowing what a rocker is) will probably know far more about it than me though, thats the funny thing about him, he knows all about the weird and wonderful stuff and not about the really basic stuff, quite an unusual guy in that respect, despite being of no use to anyone mechanically he is a fountain of knowledge on things that most of us know little about!

Chip is spot on about the engine. Martin used to use a Millington Diamond block. Lighter and taller.
I presume a Rocker is like a cam follower?
I am of LESS than no use mechanically as well... I break things VERY easily and this causes more problems. So now I don't even try

Basically on a 8v engine (well more ot the point a single cam engine) or a pushrod engine you have them normally.
So where the cam sits in the middle on an 8v it pushed up these little seesaws that site facing either side of it, 4 to the exhuast and 4 to the inlet, as they push up the other side pushes down and opens the valve.
Same sort of thing with pushrod engines (where the cam sits in the blocks) they push a rod upwards and then a little seesaw converts that into a downwards movement instead of push the valve open.

But Millington is a very trick engineering company the basically rework the YB engine and make it even better, I think they tend to take them out to 2.4? and also most the Millington engines I have seen have been N/A but again i'm probably wrong.

GtechR, we have already answered this mate. They make the YB block out of lighter ally and they are also taller blocks. This allows bigger capacity without having to compromise on internal geometry I think. You are correct about most being N/A though...
Anyone seen the Colin Mccrash's new Mk2 built by DJM? Thats got a Millington engine

Ben
I already know that, or i wouldnt have posted not having to do so as an advantage of the millington block in this thread a few hours ago.
If you are stroking a YB engine though, you dont really have a lot of choice but to shorten the rods sadly!
You can move the gudgeon pin up a little, you can raise the pistons slightly further in terms of deckheight, but then thats it, after that if you want to stroke still further you have no choice but to go for shorter rods if you want to increase the stroke further.
You only have a finite amount of space between the top of the block and the bearing tunnel, so without increasing that via a new block, you HAVE to shorten the rods to stroke it very far.
