resistor cannot be in the switch - i would like to see a resistor that fits in there that is capable of passing over 15A

don't know where they are on a mondeo, but rob @ scc seems to. they're usuall somewhere that gets a bit of airflow though, cos they do expel quite a lot of heat.

Well my switch had a whole unit at the back of it. As said this was on a pulsar though so may well be different on a mondy.

maybe the switch itself was fooked on mine and not the resistor then?

not saying your wrong Andy, it's probably just that nissan control the fan speed in a different way rather than just dropping the voltage across a whacking great resistor

thats true, spiky do ya have the mk3 shape mondeo with the screw hole in or the earlier one with the springs on show

its a actualluy design fault, sold one today actually, you need to solder the wires and not scotch lock em

the resistor is 1311115 i belive ( or close to that , sell about 4 a week )and the wiring i aint got a clue about, if the guy at the parts desk dont know what the wire is ask him to ask a memeber off staff on the back counter/workshop parts desk

the wire is about 7 quid odd and the resistor is 8 quid odd

spikey when ya take the resistor out theres 2 styles, the older style clips is and the newer style has a screw hole in it, ( thats the 1311115 with screw)

as its a N reg it could be either

take ya reg down and they will tell ya at fords

unless ya tell me how i can bypass the password at work and i can do it for ya tommorow
