I dont know which way round they fit.......
Yes, the blanking plate IS removeable - IIRC the Es Cos owners hand book says something about removeing them for extra airflow/cooling in tropical climates

I would swap them for 3.9 front & rear diffs, because all I was trying to achive was lower gearing for the "odd" track-day and sharper accleration for road use...........At the moment with the standard diff ratio (3.66 ) and 8 K rev limit the car is a bit tall geared.

just finding my feet
mike all it ays in the manual is
ENGINE COOLING(sports version)
for extreme engine cooling under extreme engine load conditions, and in high ambient temps, remove the 2 blanking shields clipped into the right and left hand corners of the air intake aparture in the radiator grille surround panel ( see illustration)
but mike thats just saying remove em, dont say whats behind em
the piccy looks like the what you was refering too, fook knows if that thing that doug has got is behind it though
hope that helps

Jakub, with these in place and the undertray fitted, it forces the air through the radiator, rather than allowing it to go around it (the undertray butts up against the inner edge of the blanking panel). If you want to duct cold air to the brakes, you can remove the flat blanking panel and the round blanking plate on the duct and connect some tube to direct the air flow to the brakes. It would appear that most people have these removed though.

I don't have undertray too :-/
I must think about improving the situation when I get the sump guard which will influence airflow through the radiotor for sure. As for now I never experienced any cooling problems.

...and don't forget the proper EsCos (just for Dave ) was built for homologation purposes, so seemingly useless bits of kit were put on for a reason.....

Mike they wont fit with your cooler, as above its proper tight with a pro alloy item alone... the fixings with the little slider things a self tapping screw goes into fix to the undertray, if thats not there, as dave says its 1 bolt at the top

Damo,
My cooler is narrower at the bottom than a standard RS500 style intercooler and doesn't go as low, so they should fit. Also, I have an undertray on the car, which will soon be fabricated in aluminium and be a proprietory item you can buy off the shelf from Pro-alloy (although they don't know this yet ), as the Ford item is discontinued.
If you could send your blanking plates that would be great, as I would like to get them made in carbon .
Cheers
