Not fitted them yet, been in my shed for 2 months

Winter job now

Quality looks spot on,brackets and bells gold anodized

Discs are plain, heat treated racing rotors, whatever difference that makes!!!

Will fill my 18's a bit better than the standard rear discs

I have fitted a set of Compbrakes to my mates P1 Scoob.

The kit was really good but the braided flexis didn't match up to his car so teh seller tried telling me it was a non uk scoob ! which it isn't.

Besides that they are very good, my mate who has a evo 7 reckons they stop better than his brakes, the only thing I could pick about them was the calipers flex quite a bit unlike Brembos or AP, cant be sure how good they would be on the track though after consitant use, great value for money though really.

heres some pics

They come with Powervane rotors and Hawk pads

I think he paid around £700 for them when they first come out.

braided lines was what I meant, the fittings did not fit the original lines on the car, only a small problem though, braking power is great though

Got them front and rear on my 4 x 4 Saph.

Bit of a pain to fit, but stopping power is ace, way better than good standard brakes. No warping and I hammer the hell out of my car on track.

Fitting problems are to be discussed with the guy who makes them, but let's just say I'm glad my mate did most of the work and knows how to use a lathe!!!

Got a very good price fot them from a nice guy who drives an RS1600i and may possibly have posted somewhere above - cheers Tony

Simon, I was more than a little dissapointed to hear of the fit problem.

Everything comes with a no quibble guarantee, he must have done 25 or so rear cossie kits now so Im really at a loss unless you had the wrong part supplied.

I'll be onto him for you when he gets back off holiday.

Whats the point in buying brakes that dont fit??? How many of us on here have access to a lathe to machine parts down???Not many I'd guess!Might as well buy the brakes from Lo-spec I think i'd rather buy from Brom at ZOO or Martin at Reyland,at least you know it'll fit 1st time.Regards Micky

Sorry NUTS RuS,i didnt know the parts where supplied by you when i posted,as you know I have discussed RST parts (mostly suspension and brakes) with you on here before and respect youre knowledge. No quibble guarantee is cool, but I for one hate it when parts don't fit 1st time (i understand you sent the wrong part),thats why I hate Lo Spec!!!!Regards Micky

I got a set of front discs and calipers for a car from TAS a while ago, and if you get somebody to press the brake the brembo logo on the caliper flashes at you from the casing flexing.

but they seem to stop alright.

Cheers

they are crap stay well clear, i got a set of 330 6 pots off them, fitted them and the car didnt move due to the disc hitting the track rod end and the caliper bracket
also the caliper doesnt fit the disc very well there is about 5mm of pad hanging out of back of caliper, down to about 2mm at each end, as if the calipers were for a smaller disc
they all came with marks on and when i sent them back he wouldnt give a full refund as he said carrier had done the marks
i had the same problem with brake pipes had 3 types sent all wrong
caliper leeked when i finally bleed them
i was going to go down and kill him, i could go on alot more about them aswell, lol
I GOT A SET OF AP 355`S WITH 6 POTS, A MILLION TIMES BETTER

Thanks Tony for your response - didn't mean to start a mini riot! It could be the parts were wrong, but they were a close non fit if you know what I mean. Just needed a bit of tickling with a drill and lathe on the rear discs.

The calipers may flex, but I personally have not seen this happen, and based purely on my 1000 miles of road use and 2 track days I find the front brakes at least to be SH1T HOT

The rear brakes I'm still bedding in, but they also work fine once a little TLC has been applied during fitting. I have photos of the before and after for either Tony or the guy that makes them to have a look at.

They also look ace which is surely the main reason for buying them

Me personally I give them 10/10 for performance, 10/10 for visual appearance and 7/10 for fit - hopefully with my piccies and comments we can get the fit up to 10/10 too.

Plus 11/10 for Tony (NUTs RuS) sorting them out quickly and at a V. Good price. Best you folks PM him for a price - you will be pleasantly surprised.

Ta

Are these the same calipers/kits that JC motorsport was selling at Nat day for £700 for front 4 pots 330mm i think. The calipers were a mauve colour with COMPB4 on them in big letters, looked very good & cheap too.

I guess so yes Simon.

The 330 kit uses an open topped caliper (as used in racing) which dicipates the heat better than a closed top one.

The ones SiB had were titanium anodised though not mauve

Make no mistake - if you have AP money, then even I would say get AP's but unfortunatly not alot of people have, but plenty people do want an upgrade at a more affordable/realistic price. Thats the gap in the market being bridged by Steve and others.

Thats a B4 fitted to my 295mm disc which still fits under the 15 inch rim.

That one is a closed top caliper (for reference)

Does that mean there are different spec's colours etc available?

The 330 kit has the Pro Race 1 open topped caliper and bigger pistons, its bigger than the B4.

I couldnt fit them under 15 inch rims so dropped down a size to the B4.

And to save some of the other PM's repeating...

Applications include
Audi S2
Audi Quattro
BMW Mini
Honda Civic Type R
Ford Cosworth
Peugeot 205
Subaru Impreza

etc

APs are £1300 plus vat from Demon Theives for reference! At shows places like Woodford and A1 have had them up at £1100

Second hand AP kits for 4 x 4 Cossies fetch £750 and sell within minutes on this site when they do come up - they are more common and tend to be similar money for 2wd kits as well.

These are that sort of price brand new. No warped or worn discs, no sticking calipers, no marks, no tired around the edges, no ex rally car thrashed to hell use. That's why I got mine.

I'll try and get some piccies up as soon as I can.

Can you buy off the shelf Pads for these or are there these Hawk pads only?
What about repair kits seals etc just in case?

TONY - A pic of the kit for mine would be cool, Just to see what I'm getting
