Default Job Reference HELP! :(

Hi Guys,

Looking for jobs at the minute and filling out application forms it is asking for references! Now the only good, strong references I would have the people have left there so the new managers at the place will never have heard of me!

What shall I do in a situation like this?

Cheers

Nick

Hardly any Companies give a personal reference. Give the HR Dept at your last Company as a Referee, providing you dont have any disciplineries on your file with them, they will issue a standard 'good' reference on your behalf.

i had the same issue a few short weeks ago, my last few jobs id left on bad terms to say the least

but i startewd temping though a agency and they gave me a refference, also got offered full time jobs at all of the places i worked at and that gave me loads of confidence

now im doing this job here due to my boss seeing my work and judging m from that and not some wanker from my last employment

If they don't mind having someone giving you a character reference then you can get round it that way. Cannot be a relative and they must have known you for more than 3 years. Hope this helps. Goodluck

That doesn't matter. They are not allowed to give a bad reference. They can refuse to give one at all tho. YOu can also give details of previous employers to that, and depending on hold old you are, you can use your secondary school as a reference.
