Default Lifters and cam belt change

How much should a full set of lifters and a cam belt change be on a 1993 escort cosworth (Big Turbo) ??

Thinking about getting mine done soon ...

Cheers

jeasus! its like an hour and a halfs work (give or take)

Cam belt on cosworth (if pully is being a good girl) dont take very long as
its very simple on a YB
and lifters the longest part of that job is undoing all the bolts for the rocker cover!

So just a few hours to do both jobs (belt and lifters) think i may do it myself then.

There are lots of sets of lifters on e-bay - I take it these may not be a good buy ???

Give GGR a ring mate, they are doing an offer at the moment, GrpA Cam belt and tensioner for £40. (Well they were last week when I bought mine)

just did mine at the weekend - new tappets, cams and belts - total, not a lot really, its an easy job if you have the tools - just time consuming, as once you start seeing dirty things, you want to clean them, and then you clean more and more and before you know it, there is no more dirt anywhere

I think i have a lazy tappet and they were not changed when the engine was rebuilt (False economy by previous owner)

Is there any special tools needed, just so i can be prepared !!, do you need to soak them in oil before fitting ??

soak them in thin oil for 24 hours.

only special tool is a pully puller for the crank pully if you are changing the belt, and also a small magnet for pulling the tappets out of their holes
