Default Cracks around strut tops... cost to repair?

ive got 2 cracks starting around my passengerside struts (just where the round bit meets the inner wing) would rather get it seen to before it gets bad... ive seen lods of cars like this, so i take it its a common repair... what is it (weld a plate in?) and how much you normally looking at (not including whcking a bit of paint on afterwards)

if it's rust, best to go and get another strut area as once it thro at the top, the area will always be weak
