I wouldn't take it to a garage either it would be cheaper to throw it a way and buy another car

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
GSF -> http://www.gsfcarparts.com/
They should have a local one to you, and are VERY likly to have them in stock, if not then its next working day b4 12
There usally pretty well priced for this kinda thing, u might be able to beat the price mail order, but its easier IMO to just go to a shop and get them

aaah gary...
got the manifolds etc off... cam pully notch is at 12 o clock inline with the cam cover mark
just now release the tensioner and remove headbolts and lift away
one question... what bolt is left in, and which way do i slide the head from as not to disturb the liners and just break the seal
cheers

ive got to remember now...
have you undone all the engine mount bolts ?? they hold the head to the block
once all the bolts are out head should just lift but do not turn engine over as it will lift liners

yeah, the drivers side mount has been removed, and the belt cover aswell (what a c*nt!)
once headbolts are removed, you have to slide the head at one side (with one bolt left in) so as to break the seal, then lift off
if you need to turn the engine over with the head off... a plate needs to be made and bolted to the block fave to stop the liners from lifting as you said
shonky fooking engines!
did you remove the inlet manifold from the head aswell?
