The best LINK ever!
Everyone is always having problems getting that special custom made item they really need to make their car run properly or finish it for that matter ..
well .. here you can ONLINE design the part you need to the specifications you need. and they deliver FAST .. really fast.. and really not expensive , because normally the design has to be done by other people .. which cost money.. since you can design it yourself now with the software they provide .. its cheap in comparison...
It just makes car modding (or any modding) a whole lot more fun !!
and you dont need that special bloke making that one part you need to finish your car...
welcome to the future !!

It's a good idea but I have really got to disagree with them not being expensive - from going on the examples they give (which are a little vague as they don't mention thicknesses or any particular details which can add or subtract from the cost)
For one of these (apparently 10" along the longest axis)
£130 they want to machine one, we would quote roughly half of that to machine one, which would include CAD work as well (from a rough drawing or description)
For one of these (apparently 1" along the longest axis)
£70 - At a quick rough guess the cost from us would be around the £20 - £25 mark, again including CAD work.
Maybe I need to start charging more
Also the software they provide is pretty poor, can't really compare it with the software which machine shops use that cost £10,000+ There are other issues such as people designing their own parts means they may need some engineering knowledge.
As before it's a good idea but I don't think it will ever take the place of a traditional machine shop.
