I remember painting my black escort estate I used ONLY ICI gear ... cost me over 600 plus the primer (again ICI )
ANd that WAS BLACK ... though I did clearcoat it, as I was advised to and didnt know any better

clear laquer yeah... I wantted BLACK BLACK which obviuosly I got, but clearcoated it too, didnt affect it in a bad way but I know now, it does "lighten" the colour slightly ... IMO there is no need to clear if you are using "solid/straight gloss" paint, only need clear if using basecoat or doing something fancy... Just my opinion though.. remember I aint a time serve pro painter

right then next question mr v, does paint go off? for example if i was to buy the paint over a period of time and keep it in my garage unopened, will it be ok months possibly a year down the line?
