Default Non-Ford Help Please??????

AARRGGHHHH!!

Car died on me earlier. It just suddenly lost power. Engine was still running but couldnt rev it or anything. Kept dropping it down the gears and it just kept slowing down until it stopped and cut out.
Seemed like it had ran out of petrol but the guage was above the red. I put some more in it anyway just in case and as Id stopped on a little hill I rolled it back down to level ground but still wont start.

Cant understand it being out of fuel but if it was, arent fuel injection cars a pain in the arse to start if theyve been ran out? And if so- how do i get it started again?!!!!

Its the car in me sig- 1.5 16v civic.

thanx

check the fuel pump fuse/Relay, as I think its only diesel injection which are a pain in the arse to start if they run out. When you turn the ignition does the fuel pump prime? (a small humming sound). When you turn the key as if to try and start the engine, does it sound like it would normally?

Good idea. I'll have to steal me mums car later and go check the relay/fuse as i had to leave it 8 miles away in town.

Im not sure actually if i heard the fuel pump working. I know what you mean and coz the road was quite busy i didnt hear it. Dozy cow-should have listened out for it!!

iirc the small engined hondas had a problem with the igniter in the dizzy, not changed one for a few years now like, but was doing them on a reg basis, was about £70 from the dealers - check if its got a spark ! no spark them it will generally be this
