Get the head to Karl for a full refurb or you may be sorry
Especially if a valve guide moves and wreaks your new engine
I have seen it happen you wont be able to see a hairline crack in the guides

Sorry to hear the news DOO, but luckly, it looks like you got away lightly mate
I've been there with the tensioner stripping out of the head, although i didn't have such a nice suprise when i took the head off as mine was all standard
Mine bent all the valves too, (these are not cheap btw ) My pistons had contact marks but i took them to CTM which is next door to Burtons and they machined pockets into them and saved them all
That was 3 years ago and it's still running sweet
If it's Joe @ Bluesprint that built the engine you could always give him a ring to get the spec of it off him, his number is 01621 744881
Cheers
Dave

why skim it ??? I wouldnt just get a nice flat file or the like and a little emery to check it aswell as clean it up a little, but as you run a fibre gasket and it hasnt had water past it it should be ok......
