i stumbled across this i think its US only but what the fuck?? what about the uk.......

This is the 2.3L Cosworth Focus that will be at NOPI and it currently has the stage 3 kit on it which will include the head, cams, TB, Cosworth intake, header, exhaust, intake mani, rods, pistons, and the ECU re-flash.







the focus is BIG in the US and this baby is a 2.3L! over 200bhp at the wheels

Its just a US Ford with a 2.3L engine devloping somewhere around 137bhp in standard form and then Cosworth made different stages of tune for it.

The good news is that the engine is very similar to the one fitted to the Fiesta ST so there will kits available for that too in a while.

The new Focus Cosworth was being designed/built using a Volvo engine... wasn't it ? and Audi's 4x4 system ?

Nope that was the new ST and its gonna be FWD ( WHY!!!) and not 4x4

Car is still current in the US, as they're keeping the MkI shape for a while yet.

That orange car is a just a focus with a 2.3 duratec and a few cosworth racing bolt on bits.

Check out cosworths website and youll see the bolt on bits - even that inlet.

So no its not a Focus Cosworth!

Or, yes indeed it IS a Focus Cosworth....

This particular Focus is Cosworths own show car which was built to showcase the bolt on engine upgrades available for the US Focus.

Cosworth now owns the right to the Cosworth brand name(Ford let Cosworth have that when they sold Cosworth earlier).
Therefore one could argue that a Focus built by Cosworth, or even equipped with Cosworth parts is a Focus Cosworth(or at least the nearest you can get).

Its just a promo vehicle made by cosworth at best

it was a standard american 2.3ltr focus, with cosworth bolt on parts made by cosworth for their show car,

I think it's pretty much known that there's more chance of seeing Lord Lucan than a Focus Cosworth. Last I read there wasn't even going to be anything RS again

gotta agree I was on the so called 'waiting list' about a year or so ago,had an email from someone in Ford motorsport/RS division too, I cant see a Focus Cosworth EVER happening ,Ford dont think they will profit from one so wont build one,we MAY see a MK2 Focus RS if the new ST does fantasticaly,but I doubt it'
If they were in a better financial situation they might have considered it but not now

All I can say is I hope that car at the top has very hard engine/gearbox mounts. Look at the inlet-to-front panel clearance!
