YET ANOTHER BIG THANKS TO KARL...ENGINE FULLY MAPPED.
I know we always get these posts, but I wanted to thank Karl for taking the time to finish off mapping the cossie (Bearing in mind his other half has just had a baby boy).
Car is now awsome to drive....... No, unbelievable is the way to describe it. After having so many various conversions done to the engine....Everything from stage 2, to stage 3, to T4, it goes on and on. At last I can honestly say I'm totally happy with it. Bearing in mind how much work Karl has done on this engine, and the time he took over doing it, it's money well spent. Now I know I have a reliable engine with big output. Engine just pulls so strongly from about 3500rpm all the way to the limiter (7400rpm). And god does it pull.
Can't give an exact bhp/torque figure at the moment, as I haven't had the chance to have it on any rollers yet, but I asked Karl to build an engine with over 420bhp, and lots of torque with minimal lag. And he's come up trumps in every way. His modified head and cams are flowing so much air, that we max'd out the greys, and running the T38 Turbo with a peak of 34psi, going down to 30psi at the top of the rpm range. To say it's quick is an understatement, as anyone who's been in the car will agree.
Over the moon with it... BHP/Torque Figures to follow shortly (Proven Figures, not Max Power Bull Crap). My estimate (And I never over estimate.... is "Well over 420bhp, and around 410lbs torque"
Lets see if I'm close

AKA : Just stuck a bid in on the arm bushes.
Beam on mine is fine, just needs a new pair of beam bushes which I've already ordered.
If i win the arm bushes, then I'll replace everything.
Cheers Jim

PON : Yep, have pics, will post later today.
At work at the mo.....so limited as to what I can do.
LAMBCHOPS : Know what you mean about Polly Bushes and the rear end. Going for Escort Cossie Group N Doughnuts, (Should be arriving from Woodford Garage today) and hopefully a set of new spherical bushes for the arms (If I win them on e-bay).... Then everything on the rear beam/arms will be new. So hopefully that'll sort out the wayward rear end. Then I'll take you out for a spin. Took Gordon out as I owed him one... I think he was impressed squirming down the dual carriage-way breaking traction with torque alone, in third.

the ARB attaches to the rear arms and bodyshell on all cosworths - it has no contact with the beam whatsoever - the beams on all 2wd cosworths are the same, the 500 one just has the extra arm attachments as shown in the photo.
Ryan - its brand new and is 500 spec, not some scabby rusty one thats been bent out of shape after years of abuse - a show RS500 owner will have it no doubt even if it does not sell on the first atempt, they have been biting my hand off for all the other bits

I didn't actually bother to look at the Ebay item as at £150 for a rear beam, I felt I didn't need to bother

Arghhhh... Kev Sharp overbid me on the spherical arm bushes.... Oh well. Will try replacing the doughnuts to start off with as I'm sure that's where the problem is.
Should arrive from woodford garage today, and I'll have them fitted in time for National Day.
