Dave, can you not 'borrow' the water supply from the standard heat exchanger?

Neil.

Dave think of what the swirl pot does and where it is situated.

Dave if your using an oil cooler can you not use the original modine water supply's. There constant supply.

i think the 1 that comes out of head would be the supply and then returning through the through the heater matrix. As this would seem the logical choice. As it heats up the oil to temperature b4 heating up the heaters in car.But you never know with ford.

you need to intercept just one of the hoses or you cut the heater matrix out of the car.

That looks cock on. Except you got the flow wrong as you got the feed for oil cooler coming from matrix. And i think it should be return to matrix.

i was wondering wejter to keep the modine or not... think if im using the laminova i dont need the modine... so if i removed it..

the feed from the head to the modine could go directly to the laminova instead.. and the return from the other end of the laminova could go direct to the feed to the matrix?

If you do it that way you wil have to make sure you warm car up b4 pegging it as oil will be cold for quite a while as the modine helps to heat up oil and stabilise the temperature of both water and oil

i just keep an eye on my oil temp gauge before i boot it (i am sure Dave has one too)

Dont forget the with daves set up the water will still heat the oil up to a point anyway so his should heat up quicker than a car that has no modine and a conventionl oil cooler

But just like you to know all the facts. As i wouldn't want you coming back saying i gave it 5k launch from the school gates and it all went tits up cos oil was cold.

Yes its a -10 and its fairly tight but not that bad, both of the 90 degree quip take offs actually run between the TPS and the Dizzy cap (which you wont have anyway ) I just didn't swung the other 90 degree take off round at the time of the pic.

This pic is to get an idea of with the hoses in situ.

Not sure if a 4x4 will have the same room around or not?

What's the difference?

If you're running the pipes from the modine to the laminova cooler, the laminova is doing exactly the same job as the modine, only much more efficiently.

That's why laminvoas work so well, as they stabilise the oil re: the water temp very well...........

Rich if you look at his last drawing which i commented on as you quoted he is taking the modine out of the equation as he is bypassing it.So the oil would not be heated in the same way.I see the laminova cooler would heat it similar but not as the modine would.READ b4 quoting please

Why not then stretch?

The water to the modine is exactly the same as the water that's going to go the laminova cooler - same temperature etc, so why would it be any different?

The oil from cold will be heated by the exact same water as if the modine was there instead of the laminova - I fail to see any difference in the water heating properties...............
