Default Cosworth Dash, What do these lights mean?

On 2wd saff I have the four little red lights behind the display of the car (near the clock) permittaly on.

They should go out on the first touch of the brake pedal but don't.

What could be the reason for this?

Cheers Guys

Got this from the owners handbook:

"when a dipped beam headlight, sidelight, tail light, brake light, or any relevant fuse is defective"

just check all your rear lights work properly, should go out when you press the brake pedal yeh.

Had same keep happening on mine, was a bad connection on one of the brake light bulbs.

Hope this helps

Been checking through the fuses and all the rear lights and haven't found a fault

Its been like it since I bought the car. Just wanted t get it sorted.

Are these the only reasons?

Will have to double check if they are. Could it be ABS related?

Not sure if it could bew ABS related or not Stew, as the ABS warning light is on the instrument cluster isnt it?

I also had the lights showing at the front of the car when sidelights were on but the bulbs worked. Got fed up with trying to find the problem so fitted new bulbs and the light went out.

the AWS modules are notorious for being crap (and the connections too) if the lights DO work, then it'll be either the module itself, or the connectors somewhere... the modues are under the passenger footwell IIRC

check the earth of the rear lights. the connections are shit. i replaced the multiplugs with individual connectors & it solved all my problems. if its ur abs, the 2 yellow lights in the dash will come on. hope that helps
