just bin talking to peepol on old skool room, and wanted to know what peepol thought as im wanting to buy a 2wd saff next year as i should hopefully have around 4-5k to spend if i keep on working me ass off at the mo,and it will be my first cossie powered rwd car,so it was either a mk 2 or a saff i like both but at the mo mk2s seem to be more popular now then they ever was!

a saph is good, but a mk2 has that retro feel, and a mk1 even more, it probably costs a bit more to run a "proper" mk2, but anyone can drive one fast. and prices are on the up, whereas saph are going down!

a nicely sorted MK2 is just the best fun.. not neccesarily the fastest, but easily the most rewarding to drive, especially a nice lightweight properly sorted one - 5-link axle + lsd makes soo much difference
My Sapph is faster, more comfortable etc, but not close in the driving satisfaction stakes..
I loved my MK1 too - 1760 Lotus Twincam.. mmmmmmmm

have to say they are growing on me! hated the look of mk1's when i joined the ford scene. but things change!
i saw a yellow mk2 sat in traffic in sleaford the other day with an evo behind it. i made the point of stopping and staring at the esc and not batting an eyelid at the evo! they are so rare now that they are a proper head turner for me!
