Cheers peeps

Yes i am back in love with Thunder after i spat the dummy out the other week

anyway It's basically as what Brom said , i was going to go hydraulic handbrake route but i changed my mind because it's basically a road car

the good things about these handbrake calipers they are macanical and no fluid goes to them i deal for Rd use

it doesn't matter how thick the discs are

I'm still using the original handbrake cable with out any mods done to it

I have the CP 5200 4 pots with 330m x32m discs

it's a good little conversion for road cars using big discs and calipers set ups and will pass gen MOT

they work very well belive it or not

Mark

I have fitted a AP adjustable bias valve in the center consel where my tape cassets use to be it's set on 1 at the min

I am out at castle combe on saturday hopefully (super rally day ) so i'll see how i get on with them I spoke to Brom he recons they will be fine

he has got this set up on his but without this handbrake caliper his never locked up at the back

Thanks Brom

Marco

smit

basically it doesn't matter if you have got 2wd or 4wd using big discs calipers

it's rd legal , can use your handbrake cable , use any thickness disc, doesn't matter high or wide your discs are , no brake fluid goes to it AT All

so if your thinking in going AP/brembo route this is ideal if you don not want to go hydraulic route thats basically it

Excellent Marco Thing is i've got standard calipers on the rear atm

They are only the baby 300mm disc conversion though (Actually brought them off Brom) Stops well enough for me mind.........

It's all money money money

Everything is well tempting though

Smit

nothing wrong with the set up you got but if you was "thinking" of using AP rear calipers and didn't want to go hydraulic route then this handbrake caliper is ideal

just dont dip the clutch pal under heavy braking - although i dont use limiting valves on mine tbh so you may be ok - are you on an adj pedal box ?

Awesome rear brake set up, Glad this set up has been made BROM , I will be buying as I didnt want to go Hydraulic but couldnt get a caliper to fit the rear other than std cosworth item. Im after more Hand brake power than std 2wd set up to lock the rears, will this provide me with what I need or should I go 300mm rear disk and bells too for even more leverage? Is this kit available to fit at home too and for what price?

the hand brake set up is around the same as a normal set up
not good for locking the rears up
you need hydro for that mate

about time someone made this kit more available!

Previously looked at the RS200 kit (rare as) or making my own from a Brembo kit (around 350 GBP JUST for the calipers!)

Good work!

I have tyred the brakes my god they work mint

it's set on level 2 on the adjuster and i'm still useing the original compensator valve also

I'll let you have a drive of it if you can see for yourself how good it works honest it's pukka i'm well impressed

i went from 65mph to 20mph within a few secs without locking up at all

i tyred it on level 3 on the adjuster and the back end does lock up

I'm still using the normal ABS pump with No ABS working

I'll see what it's like driving it in anger when i'm out on castle combe the weekend

if your at rally day you can have a test drive on the rd and see what you think , i think they are awesome
