Hi
I believe i have challenged the NMS car to be at Brunters on the same day as Mark attemps the Topspeed record.
Everyone seems to think there Cossie is the fastest, so why not find out it seems easy.
Im sure Karl is not slagging off Mark or his cars & i certainly aint having a go at NMS, but it would be nice to see facts & not just talk.
My own car will be putting it on the line within a few days of its completion at totb3, it will give an indication of its potential at that event.
I will be leaving this scene at 60 (not far away) so this is my final attempt & it would be sad if these two fine cars did not battle it out for RWD supremacy.

First I've heard about this.
The interesting thing here is what are we actually trying to compare? Most cars/engines I do are T34 cars because thats the budget the owners have to work to. If you take all these cars and put them head to head with Ranj's and Rods then we have a little disparity in the specs. The only cars to be compared to their cars are mine, Daz's dolomite, and SeanB's escort.
Sean's and Daz's wont be ready for a few months yet (i.e. engines not yet running + mapping + running in etc).
As such surely we should have a big bash of cars that are all of similar spec and see how they get on.
i.e. get lots of tuners T34 cars and run them head to head, and then in the future we can have a mine/daz/seans V Rod/ranj.

karls idea is quite a good one.
2 engine specs exactly them same apart from mapping and head work.
thats would be interesting.
then its purely down to tuners not the customers budget.
obviously the tuners would have to drive the cars.
but isnt all this a bit pointless whats it going to prove?

TOTB is the ten best cars, not the ten best drivers..
At the end of the day, it's just like a private racing team.. the person putting the capital forward doesn't drive the race car, so I can fully see where Rod is coming from!

For most Cossie owners totb3 is a big ego boost & a tesostorone trip, im older & maybe wiser, my aim is simple TO WIN, thats what will be remembered not a 60 year old also ran trying to be 25.

i know where rods coming from, but for me, the fun of a car is driving it, and the battle to win.
but then again, its only 1 event, its not like you NEVER drive it, thats when its pointless owning it IMO. one day of not driving it is nothing, and if u want your CAR to be known as the fastest, then no harm there.

It's fair to do that Rod, but you will get a lot of narrow minded/jealous people calling you every name under the sun for it

I think the question most people are trying to ask in an arse about face way is why would someone spend all that money, all that time, all that stress etc etc to build a car for others to drive to try and prove some kinda of point/take a title which more or less means nothing outside the cossie world!!LOL
What kick/buzz do you get from it all ??

I can see Rods point I have questioned why he doesnt drive in the past and he replied the same answer age ! I would rather see what a car is capable of than know I can not do it justice Im sure knowing he has helped engineer the UK fastest cossie will give him a small grin
