Default HELP!!!!!!!!!

Right the escorts going to Harveys on Monday morning & it seems like the water pumps playing silly bollocks

I'm loosing Max to Min on average every couple of days, and everytime we get her on the ramps the leak seems to vanish! DOUBLE

Is it a hard job to change the pump & where's the best place to get one....Might as well buy a new one i suppose.

Cheers

Jason

LOL, can tell you aint owned a cossie for long

Obviously a block test isnt a surefire way of confirming you dont have a HG blown, but it could give you an indication if you do

Good luck....

Well it seems to be seeping from the front of the block while it was on the floor, but as i say by the time we got her up on the ramps the leak had stopped

Mate said it looked like it was coming from the pump..........

Also i drove Ldn to Manchester this week, on the way up there she never lost a drop of water

God knows

About right... only loosing water ON BOOST .. common place is the side of block below exhaust manifold, have a look, if the block is clean, it will be stained with the antifreeze,

As said always check water when cold

When I blew my HG it only dripped out once stopped driving, but couldnt see leak block test comfirmed it though

Not necessarily, the compressed gasses simply blow across block face into waterway

Allegedly running not enough antifreeze (antcorrosion too) can increase the chances of it failing on a waterway, never really tested the theory though.

You could try taking cap off after a bit of a run, see if can smell H/C.. though I personally have never found this to be effective, cant smell shit, after all the paint ive ingested

Change the water pump, its good maintainance anyway, i did it as soon as i bought mine even though there were no problems (make sure you go for a decent spec pump not a crappy aftermarket one), then see if the problem persists.

The head gasket was failing & she's now sitting up at Harveys workshop getting sorted.

Hopefully it'll all be good after this!!

Damien,

I went up to Harveys on Monday morning for my big wing sump & he checked it by putting the emissions tester in the header tank.

It was on its way out, hadn't completely gone but because it was up there thought it best to get it done before any real damage was done!!

Think its a Group A one going on there............

She'd be scrapped if i needed a new engine, the missus would have kittens then a baby if i told her how much a rebuild would cost!!

PS Mike are you on commission from SCS
