Right!! I can't bite my tongue (well, keyboard ) any longer - it's TWILL weave, not till (the term, not necessarily talking about Mike's exhaust surround)

Phil,
My car has not got carbon vents you spazo . The vents were completely removed at ND to get some of the heat out of the engine bay .

Obviously when the photos are completely focusing on the shield and nothing else, then the "twill" weave takes up all your attention. However, when viewed from a distance and with no flash to pick out the weave effect it looks a million times better.

Jason / Geert, could you take a photo in daylight that shows the whole of the rear end of the car please?

I think it breaks up the blandness of the rear bumper..................But everyone's intitled to thier opinion
