They piss on 8ES's thats for sure. Stu does some very very nice irridium plugs for about 60 quid if u got the cash, which are better than the 071's

yes but its at work, just ask for erst plugs as theres only 1 type now
if ya got microcat then is should come up on the iss report to show the change, they replaced the other plug that was better

Rick,

No problem. Improved Electrode design, which leads to longer life and less likely to overheat. More stable under high cylinder pressures, transfering more energy to the charge.
It is relative though. If you run coil packs etc then the 071's are all u'll ever need. Im stuck with shonky RST ignition system, so have to make improvments else where. My data logging kit picks up missfire's via the wideband lambda which u can never feel, but are essentially costing you power. The 071's arent as good as 701's, but are easily the best sub 50 quid plug out there.

Dave,
Yep, me too, fucking sacrelige running stuff for a bean tin in a Cossie isn't it , especially when they're a considerable improvement over any plug that I have so far had in my car (including NGK 9s), I'd rather be running some shonky Champions as well, because at least they were designed for a Cosworth and I'd put up with their poor running for that reason .

Team HOTHOT!
071's are the way to go
but i just got a set of them fancy Denso iridium ones from Stu when i had the coilpack conversion done - and fook me, they look expensive too, but 0.75mm gap is the shizzle

Ive used the Denso IK plugs on other 2.0 16v engines (vauxhal, both turbo and nitrous) and they are extremely good plugs, but when 071 works so well and are so cheap, seems hard to argue against them!
