DoT 5.1 will be fine as a top up as it is compatible with DoT 4.

SRF you need to drain the whole system really before adding the SRF or so I have been told

Think the dot 5.1 and 4 are mixable as they are mineral but i would advise AGAINST it as they have different boiling points etc.But as a quick fix.YES As said above srf is synthetic so would have to drain system and refill with srf only.

How do you think it releives pressure from the circuits Rene?

Basically there is a block of solenoid valves that bleed pressure out of the circuits as a wheel tends to lock. The kicking you feel in the pedal during ABS operation is caused by these valves opening and closing.

The control is certainly electronic, but the actual ABS mechanism is mechanical

Neil.

PS I dont think it makes the blindest bit of difference Been using DoT5.1 in my cossie for 3 years, and in my old ABS Sierra for nearly 7 years before that - Im sure it will be OK
