98se does have the same problem as that pach was needed for mine for the bigger drive.

As soon as it was loaded and rebooted it saw the full size of the drive and I was able to carry on as normal

But Markk isn't seeing any second drive (unless I've misunderstood), the bug usually manifests itself as showing the drive as smaller than it is....

The BIOS sees it as full size Bill, but Windows can't do anything with it.

When 98 was written back in 95--> there were no large drives as such in mainstream PC's so it was never a problem then.

The patch fixes this - but im buggered if I can find it, had a look for it myself the other night but got lost in the maze of Microsoft patches

that how it is - bios sees it as a 40gb but doesnt see it in windows
