Default Why does paypal takes ages to pay people? it never used to

recently when ive paid for things using paypal it has taken about 10 days for the paypal payment to clear (it just shows as payment pending in my ebay), even tho i have the money sat in my bank account for the transaction. it used to be instant and even tho i havent changed anything it is now taking ages to buy things

my mate also has exactly the same problem, his used to be immediate but now his takes an eternity.

anyone any ideas?

the problem really seems to be with getting the cash from my lloyds/tsb account to my paypal account, because if sufficient funds for the transaction are in my paypal account already, payment is made instantly.

It only lets you transfer upto about 500 quid or something, if you want to transfer quickly after that you have to become verified or it swaps to "e-cheques" which take 9 days or something to clear.

Are you sure you didnt accidently send an e-cheque through them??

They are the same but take 10 days to clear like a normal cheque.

Have you remouved credit cards from your account mate ???

The same happened to me as you need a back up funding source to have instant payment...

I took my credit card off paypal to stop me spending money on bits for my cosworth, what i didnt realise is that the card acts as a backup if the payment bounces at the bank end of the deal.

With it back on all is fine and dandy.

Hope this helps ya mate
