Default Useful info for Everyone (please read you'l thank me after)

Ok spreading the word here,

All the mobile networks including Vodafone (my employer) are pushing whats now call ICE (Incase of emergency)

What this basicly is, is to add to any name in your contacts list on your mobile the word "ICE" in brackets next to anyone who you would wish to be contacted in case of an emergency..

Hence I.C.E

Example - Home (ICE) 01925******

This will help both police, ambulance services, fire and anyone contact people who would need to be informed should you have an accident whilst out and about. All emergency services now recognise this and will be used should ppl have the unfortunate pleasure of being in a situation where your next of kin or anyone would need to be contacted.

Feel free to re-post this on other forums and tell freinds this so that it gets round quite alot, as i asume everyone who reads this will agree on the benefits of this new scheme.

It will be rolled out publicly but at the moment its kinda of dead with publicity, despite it beeing a recognised thing.

Thanks

Dave Jones

Good idea but surely any emergency service employee would have the brains to just go into a mobile and call 'home'

Wouldn't it make more sense to have "ICE - Home" instead? So they don't have to go through the whole of the phonebook to find them....

I would hope that whoever is rescuing me has enough common sense to look for something like "Home", "Mum", "Dad" or "Sister" before fannying around looking for this 'ICE' thing.

I reckon adding the ICE thing to a different number that you want to be rung In Case of Emergency might be a good idea then.

We're not talking about the numbers you use so often BT put them on your "Friends and Family" list for you

Can imagine some poor bloke ringing your ICE number and hearing "This call will cost you Ł1.50 a minute - mobile rates vary - prepare to be talked through the most amazing sex you;ve ever had with a farmyard animal"

we've all done it.

That's assuming you've put them in your phone book under what they are for you. Lots of people call them by their names... especially sisters or brothers...

the general idea is to allocate "ice" against any no. youd want calling, so if it had Alexndra Mon-Spritzbottom Calhoom The Third (ice) they'd call that..

there looking for ice.. nothing else!

you are a fucking spoon aint ya!

just cant go along with the flow....its a good idea if it wasnt for spanners like you alot more people would take up ideas and there would be no need to go through your fone find sister 1,2,3 and think "well which one do i call?!" one might be australia! one might have panick attacks, how the fuck are they ment to know!

shit for brains some people!

why cant ya just put i.c.e infront of the person YOU would prefere to know/find out whats happend to ya! then you know for sure who will be called in an emergency they might call someone you aint spoke to in ages

"hello the person who owns this mobile has been in a trgic accident"

"oh right.....good serve the fucker right for drinking my pint and fucking my bird"

"oh ok....any idea of who gives a shit?"

"no!"

Not a constructive way is it?!!!!

And If I put ICE infront of say Mums number and shes out, then the'll just phone dad, misses, home, brother, gran, work, dentist, brothel etc so how does the system help then

Or if I'm a chav and have Halford's ICE already in my phone it could get confussing

So you gotta add it to a number you would call in the event of an emergency?

Like 999? Silly fookers would be going round in circles then
