Horrible!
I had a 'backwards into the wall' moment myself recently - 60mph at impact point - but it was tyre barrier, and that hurt enough. Glad everyone is ok and hope it's not too much trouble fixing the car up

Real shame it was armco. I have a new respect for tyre walls... they do an incredible job.
Well at least the guys are ok

I was at the furthest point away from the crash (by the go karts) and was wondering what caused the stop in the track activity it wasn't till I got back around to find out,
Never had a Cossie but it's sickening to see that happen - to any car - even worse cos it's a cossie!

RichPon said what I was thinking - he appeared to try and flick the car in on a tight line and drift it round but just got it a wee bit wrong. Shame for such a nice car to end up that way

Camp is so much worse a bend than it looks from anywhere other than the drivers seat, EVERY time ive been to coombe (which is very often, as its my local track) there has been someone write their car off on that bend, sometimes as many as 5 or 6 in a day!
It tightens up towards the end and has no run off, if you go into it too fast then you dont stand a chance no matter how good a driver you are.
Dave's problem was that where he tried to drift early on and couldnt catch it he had the car go straight on him which meant he carried far too much speed towards the end of the corner, at that point he was fooked, there was just nothing anyone could have done from that point, to be honest he is just fooking luck it span so it was the back that fit not the front or he would have some very painful whiplash and a lot less of it would be salvageable.
Fair play to him for giving it a go I say, IMHO these cars are designed to be driven hard and thats what he did, in a safe environment in terms of not hurting anyone else too, so its not like he was doing this on the road
If you keep pushing the limits at 90mph+ like that then sooner or later this is going to happen, anyone who thinks they could drive as hard as dave was and for them to manage it lap after lap on loads of track days and keep going on forver like without incident is naive.
Hope you get it all sorted soon Dave
