i'm guessing that the compressor output from the first turbocharger is used to drive the turbine wheel on the 2nd turbocharger, therefore only needing 1 "hot" exhaust - thus compound charging it

probably wrong tho

nah surely not, the exhausted gases are driving the second turbo with ( i'm completely guessing here ) that pipe going down into the base of the engine bay to a turbo probably at a strange angle with the exit of the compressor housing coming alongside of the base of the turret and into the bottom of the cooler etc etc

possibly with a twin entry ( with the compressed air from the first turbo )

sounds clearer in my head

that is mind blowing.

There must be someone who has information on this car. Come please disclose the spec and power.

Who built it?

Spec - I told you - run of the mill stage 1. Remapped ecu, standard injectors, Decomped standard 2wd engine with bolt ons from halfords.

You would be amazed what these people supply now - like the off the shelf 4.25" downpipe and the full twin 3" exhaust system. I think you folk dont look close enough, they are usually sitting between the blue washer lights and the sun strips...... Or was it between the K+Ns and the water injection kits LOL

Target power expected 204bhp

Martin, its suprising what can be done on the std injectors with a little extra fuel pressure and a couple of blue neons!

I wanna see the 2nd turbo.

I also wanna see a proper diagram of the inlet and exhaust piping of it all, too see if its done how I think it is.

Boost and power (real ) numbers would be nice too

So do i. The engine looks great. AVA have done a great job. Its a shame no one really knows what the spec or what sort of power it is.

I wonder what sort of transmission it runs.

Air sucked into one turbo then blown thru the inlet of the 2nd turbo, one turbo is bigger than the other, forget if blows from big to small or other way round.

Same on the exhaust side, gasses go from one to the next.

Makes charge temps mega high, but allows mental boost pressures but with each turbo only "seeing" half that boost. Ie 2x turbos running at 30psi shows 60psi at the engine.
(Possibly more than doubled/halved, might be squared, i forget now)

Used on massive diesels etc, can be 2-3-4 turbos linked and 250psi boost has been used in the past.

I really really wanna learn more, but know fairly little about it at mo.

Okay, but surely the air entering the second turbo will be hot, and under huge pressure?

Wouldn't you need a massively efficient intercooler to deal with the very high (I presume) charge temps you're gonna see?

Think it looks really cool. Lovely install as well I keep looking at the pics again and again.

Shame you keep on about target power 204bhp though... its boring and people are genuinely interested in what looks like an awesome bit of kit and a something really new and different .

If its a secret then keep it a secret! but in my opinion posting coooool pics and then bullshitting is ghey.

Transmission - Tremec TKO box
- Tilton multiplate clutch, hydraulic bearing
- Lightened flywheel ( too fuckin light ROFLOL! )
- Strengthened prop
- Quaife ATB diff

So not a fast transmission but should be up to 204bhp well fingers crossed

I dont see why you can fit an intercooler between the two turbos and another after the second one steve, to control temps, after all, its not like dropping a few psi would matter!

Wasn't there a post a few weeks ago with it being on a rolling road doing around 800 bhp or was that a hoax.
