That stuff is quite good, I've fitted a few and not had any problems.
Go for dual tech sensors though, very good at avoiding false alarms as it needs heat AND motion to trigger.
Re pager, you can use a dialler to call your mobile, better than carrying something. You can program a few different numbers too

I've now moved in and need to sort an alarm out for my house....
anyone got any more ideas....
I am dubious about starting to ring around local places (unless recommended) as don't want to sit through demo after demo, bumpfh and hard sales.
really want a dialer or SMS system so that I know its gone off.
