Default Car Help Req'd

Was in friends car tonight, and on our way back to mine to drop me off.. the following happened.

We paid our 80p to the boy in the Bridge Toll Booth, and as my friend was pulling away, the car cut out. She wasnt booting it, revving it or anything, just pulled away and it cut out.

Trying to restart the car was pointless, the first 2 times the starter was turning VERY slowly, and if you try to start the car now, you get nothing...... absolutely nothing, the ignition lights/interior lights/dashboard lights go off, and as soon as you return to the "turn 2 position" they all come back on.

The guy from the RAC reckons its the battery, however, trying to jump start it off his van gave nothing at all.. exactly same result.. which to me, point to other things cause surely it would kick into life when running off his van. Nothing happened when we tried to bump start it either.

The car has had a recon'd engine fairly recently from a reputable source.. so dont think that has given up. Or at least if it has, I hope it hasnt infected my car while Im tryin to punt it!!

Im just lookin for a wee bit of input from peeps on here, cause I dunno what it could be like.

Cheers,
Grant

Or maybe some electrical failure like some cable to the chasiss disconnected?

This can be of course some major mechanical failure like snapped cambelt too.

The toll guys do that to anyone trying to cross without paying full fare - it costs a Ł1 now!!

My guess is a stuck starter.

It had a cambelt no longer than a month ago so I hope its not that, she's had shitty luck with cars as it is.

A mate is heading over and first thing we're gonna try the battery out my Fiesta Diesel to see if thats the problem, if not then we're gonna have a look at the alternator cause its weird how it cut out randomly without her stalling it, etc.

Oh, and it was the Tay Road Bridge mate.. still only 80p, you try getting an extra 20p out of a Fifer!!!

She's just text me saying she blew the shit out of the engine bay with a power washer the other day...... My guess is that she's fooked a wire of somewhere or something that way!!

Ok, things are pretty bad for the car!!

The engine has seized, tried turning the crank by hand, and nothing at all... totally stuck... also when tried to bump start it.. the belt wasnt moving.

Suspect that a failed Oil Pump is to blame, however, cant understand why this wasnt highlighted when she got the sourced block fitted recently after big end bearing failure.

Cheers,
Grant
