As above. Up until now I've always just put a new set without any adjustment but having read a few posts it seems as though they need to be adjusted.

Would really like to know the technical stuff.

Ideally you want as big a gap as possible in order to get the burn started as quickly as possible, but on the other hand a smaller gap is less likely to be overcome and "blown out", so its a bit of a balancing act, generally though a decent coil will allow you to run more boost without having to close the gap up.

I gap my plugs to 25 thou. Seems to be the norm for stage 3 cossie unless you have a particularly good ignition system or coil packs.

No, NEVER, always check them as they vary so much, but TBH after a while you know what .6mm looks like etc, so if its for a basic spec car you can see they are close enough to be ok without needing feelers if you are in a rush, but not really my idea of doing it right, far better to just spend 10 seconds a plug and know they are right.

Some plugs like some modern iridium ones you cant really gap yourself, they are too fragile, but you can still check them and know to not fit one or two if they are wrong.
