Default PC HELP

Right i need help

I have 2 CD drives in my PC ones a DVD writer jobby and ones a CD writer

I took the DVD one out to lend my mate to copy a star wars film cough cough

Now i put them back in my PC and its not showing any of them i have checked the cables on mates PC and they are fine as are the drives

The only bit i cant check is the plug that it goes into on the mother board

Is there anything i may have "Inadvertently" switched off when i went into the f2 Bios jobby

If so how do i sort this out

Please help

Go into your bios and set all 4 slots to "Auto Detect" them save changes, he also could of changed a jumper around on the drive and if 2 are the same it can caus conflictions and stop it from detecting any drives

mr nige, long time no speak big fella!

can u not get access to the connections on the motherboard??
has ur friend changed any jumper switches on the drives?

also in the BIOS, there is an option on most motherboards to allow you to select either "IDE 1", "IDE 2" or "BOTH". You will need it set to both.

Is the IDE cable ok and plugged in correctly to the drives, and the correct way? (the red stripe on the ide cable needs to point towards where u plug the power in)

i await ur reply ..............
