Ive seen a lot more dangerous and out of control shit done on motorways every day as people cant drive for shit, and then they VERY close to other cars, not miles away like that.
It was a total fix anyhow, 5am, no traffic, and the lorrys were in on it, just there to block the way and to look good on camera.
Hed have to be a proper shit drifter to lose a straight line swaying drift like that anyhow.
I know of a few corners on M-ways that are just begging for some 100mph+ drifting...
Good vid BTW

If he really felt he had to do on a public roundabout, dont get someone filming, it encourages all the kids in their shitboxes to try it and unfortunately most who will try it will not have the sense to choose a quiet location at least. As for the motorway it looks like he is out of control when he launches in to it so even vehicles further back behind the trucks would have no idea.
As for motorway driving having time to stop, anytime I have needed to brake (and I may travel quickly from time to time but definately dont tail gate especially on the motorway, I have had to dive on the brakes, never seen a gentle slow down, its always brakes on and the cars arses in front go in the air.

Steve - complete bollox mate.
Just because the guy can drift, it doesn't mean he wont get caught out by the condition of the road, or some unforseen problem.
You know how slippery those white lines can be when they're wet, and absolutely no amount of driving skill gives anyone the right to set that kind of an example.
Fine, he can do it without killing himself, but what happens when Mr19 year old Max Power reading I just bought a cheap and nasty 200SX gives it a try

Seriously tho, if people just copied everything they read or saw itd be another one of those "Ban violent music/tv/computer games" scenario.
Gotta be a spaz to do somthing just cause you see it somewhere, its not like they encouraging people to do it.
Thats like a kid seing a burnout or donut at a cruise/event, do it wildly wrong and killing a bunch of people, but we dont constantly slag that.

Nothing worse than cruises where burnouts are peformed - it shows neither driving skill, or common sense, and looks shit.
Donut I can understand someone doing for the show off value, but when people do it in areas where crowds of people and cars are parked up, they need their head testing.
Also, as Deano says.............

This vid has been generally slagged everywhere, but mainly cause its MaxPower
Ah like I give a fuck, I got work to do

Steve- it's no surprise that it's been slagged because it's Max Power.
Some mags are really supposrting the drift scene, especially EVO for example, but other mags are making drifting look like another way to fuck about on the roads.

I know, but I'm not wasting my money on Banzai and Jap Performance to read about some tarted up MX5, so I can't really see their support.
Anyway, you know what I'm getting at I think..............
.............. or maybe since you've started working at Future, you've gone a bit more Max yourself

My god some of you lot moan!
I'm sorry but if you think some 17 year old chav who sees a rather expensive Skyline in a magazine performing stunts on setup road scenario will try and copy them then I think you are under-estimating their intelligence!
As for the roundabout, anyone with a RWD car has probably been there and done that already anyway. I can't see anything wrong with that either!
Do you guys write to the producers of films showing stunts being performed by professionals on roads as well? I bet you had a field day with 2 Fast 2 Furious scaring yourself silly thinking kids were going to try and jump open bridges and overtake eachother in the air using NOS
Appologies for the BAL style essay

Spot on Phil.
Ban all Violent games as we will all play them and become murderers
Im gonna play Lemmings later and im sure it will make me blindly jump off a cliff
Every day i look out the office window and see kids swinging from ropes and dying trying to imitate spiderman
Ban everything, ban them all, the world is so dumb they copy everything anyone sees
Goons

Wonder if Max Power will get in trouble for it though. Only take "The Sun" to see it.
I know what your saying Steve, but the people that buy MP think Jap bumpers suit Corsas, so they clearly have no intelligence to start with.
And they all think they're demi-Gods when it comes to driving. In fact 1 well known user (yep the one who had no insurance on his white Saff ) has done DONUTS on the M25 to impress his twatty mates. So dont think the chavs wont try it on.
Thankfully I think they'll have no chance as they wont be able to get out of bed early enough to find a motorway which is clear enough.

Such a huge difference between saying "look how will this guy can drift", and then showing it being done round the complex at Silverstone, and doing it on a three lane road.
Still, as long as they were entertaining children, than it's okay.
Back you go to Max Power Steve

Does look pretty cool but still feckin stupid.
Even if the trucks were "in on it" if he fecked it up and lost control they still aint gonna be able to stop are they?
According to another site the guy was a drfit champion from Japan and had brought the car over for some show or something, it was neither taxed nor insured.
Might look good but we'll just get copycats doing the same and killing someone.

Seriously Rich, no one is going to try and drift a car across 3 lanes of motorway with no previous drifting experience, especially a Max Power reader!! More likely type is a 25 year old smack head in a 2wd Saph smashed off his face not knowing what he is doing
Or infact any 2wd Cos over stage 3 just trying to make straight line progress in the rain

just finding my feet
it was neither taxed
if hes got a valid tax disc does he get a extra 5 maxpower driving control points
mate if my mum got run over by a car doing 200 mph wioth no tax or insurance in all honesty i wont be shouting "give him a producer"
people will attempt to coopy things anyway
hes controled it and set up up to be safe, the drivers will most likely avoid in time as they know what to expect and wont get too close to him
as for the first person to attempts to drift on a motorway i lay money his first attempt will be a car in the hard shoulder facing the traffic
ask keithG666 \
i personaly find the people reading the maps on the motorway a bigger worry
#69
What's it got to with what car you drive?
If the guy was in a 2wd saff, I'd have said he was a penis then as well.
Someone please explain to me how endangering the public in that manner is cool. Personally I think the people are a bunch of sad immature wankers, but maybe that'swhy so many people on this board seem to think it's cool.

They getting confused with Ken Nomura and the Blitz 4door R34 which is here for GT Battle, but that is NOT him and NOT his car.
Nowhere near.

I watched this video and didnt think much too it.
How does this compare to me passing cars in the fast lane on a two lane motorway in the evo at 160 with massive standing water and the car aqua planing?
I'm just not sure I am in a position to talk about how dangerous this guy is. Every day out in the Evo was a recipe for one or more people to die.
Its mad if you think about it that way.
We have all done some crazy crazy moves if you think about it.
Not stirring, just interested in putting this into context. What about Hadlands unfortunate incident? what about my runs out on my favourite country road, what about Rainbird having to SQUEEZE past someone as they drifted into the outside lane as he approached them at over 170 mph. The list goes on forever.

Whether the lorries are there for a reason or whether they thought this guy is a tit and we need to stop joe public going anywhere near him is irrelevant.
You just dont take chances like that on the m-way. If he hit a diesel spill or jsut lost concentration and went through the barrier it'd be a right fookin mess. Good driver or not - mistakes happen. twat.
