Dave,

Put all these things away.

You owned one of the most chavved up RS Turbos ever to grace the planet - it's only recently you've seen sense, even if you do now own a pink WRC replica

Totally agree with Dave- Proper showup above say, 21 ish, maybe younger. Says to most people "boyracer with no money".

Fair enough some people dont care (or have other parts of them that is far more of a show up ), but most people dont like an image like that.

Its a 15+ y/o car but its no classic, just seen as a cheap boyracer mobile these days.

An S1 is a classic, but id still feel like a chopper if I used it as a daily drive, tho as a fun car to cane around just for the speed of it, id happily have.

lol @ some of the reply's

my convictions arent to do with the RST, well, maybe a couple are

anyways.. chap that put the 24k one up.. nice car, but it defeats the whole object of getting one.. and for that money, id go EVO anyday..

I wouldnt go jap meets... The point is, im loosing interest in cars in general. Just want a standard car, air con, NO squeaks or rattles I do enjoy driving it still, and with my young looks, i feel that i'll never be too old but im bored 6 years is a fooking long time to own 1 car.. and an expensive time

I dunno.. I know'll i miss it.. You get respect of people that know about cars etc..

just the other day, this old boy comes up to me in the petty station.. I thought, ol gowd, here we go turns out he had nothing but praise for it, and respect.. great condition ec, I felt proud and even waved as he left

It's no use trying to argue. Escort Cossie's are the bee all and end all of everything.

I have to disagree with that. Sorry

BUT its YOUR car and if you like your RST and YOU enjoy it then cool

Oranoco obviously does and fair play to him

BUT I still think he should have a weekend blast or a trackday in a nice sensibly modded and looked after early Scooby. Bet he would love it! great cars and great value!

They are great, wouldn't argue with you on that count. I acknowledge that the chassis on the Scoob makes the Cossie look like clockwork technology. My mates have a few and I love being taken for a blast in them.

Drove a mates 93 WRX and my only criticism from a driving point of view was I found it too easy to go quick in. I felt like IT was doing most of the driving for me

fair enough saying your too old for an S2 over 22. but then who would drive them and keep the marquee alive? imo at 22 insurance quotes are just getting reasonable for soemthing with a turbo on it!

Westy, just coz the cars worth alot doesn't mean its good!!! well not in my eyes!

And you think you get respect for throwing good money after bad on a 15 year old mark IV Escort

I certainly don't get respect for throwing loads of money at a shonky old Sierra! I think its actually quite sad!!! but at least the Sierra has a decent bit of motorsport heritage about it (not that it matters to me) ALSO it does goes very well on a track and it makes ME smile.... (well it used to!) Its also just a tracktoy... and not a road car! so I don't have to put up with it on the road

Dave,

You are missing the point though - a lot of people don't earn the sort of money you might be on, so I think it would be a little more ridiculous to be trying to scrape by with an Escort Cossie earning 20k a year etc

Very good point but alot of people do pour loads of money at shonky things when they should really stop and have a reality check! ( me included )

Bear in mind that Oranoco is talking about getting into a scooby from a 250+bhp RS Turbo on 17s.

Not exactly like you can put your foot down in the RST without gripping the steering wheel like it's about to come off!

Lee - yes mate, you should! Now get that GT3 ordered

I know there are no electronic aids. I am trying to describe what it felt like to me when I drove it. To me it felt like IT was doing all the work as everything was just so easy. In some ways I loved that but in others I didn't feel as rewarded as when I get a set of corners right in my own car.

i see what oranoco is saying.. but its for that reason, I want rid

down the bumpy country lanes, my mates chipped turbo golf is quicker.. he just glides aver the bumps, whilst im fighting for my life grabbing the steering wheel

the other day, was in my mates evo.. 130 easily.. felt like it was 60.. in my rst that would feel like 300 down the country roads

and Rudey.. a standard one will do.. you'll just be wheel spinning the whole strip

I'd rather have my RsT that a scooby I'd get a 3door,saff,esc cossie any day before i went jap and if I was to go jap I wouldn't go near subaru !!

Dave why is it a "kids" car??? How many "kids" can afford the insurance?? Or do you mean anyone that is considerbly younger than you

And whats convictions gotta do with it I'd like to know how many cossie owners have them...... Quite a few I'd say

Anyhow Westy I'd stick with your rst or go cossie

im thinking about keeping the S2 for track only now tho its a part of my life fook, i need to get out more

Hold on lets think....... I've 3points for speedind in a Derv van...... 3points for parking..... So the
a speeding conviction holding
bit is wrong (well not in the rst) ......
baseball cap wearing
hardly wear one ......
boy racer
hmm hardly

So am I still the above

And theres more "Chavs" in scooby's in blackpool than rst's

Surely thats exactly the same as removing a wheel, fucking up the geometry, or driving without a steering wheel, would make getting a set of corners right much more rewarding than it is now on your own car?

Quick Reply: is it wrong to want a scooby
