Wayne,
That was my old Sapphire. It roasted the STANDARD R1 times by almost 10mph top speed (but that was an old R1, the new ones do 180mph now).

There was also a stunt bike there with around 150bhp and whilst Harvey and Ahmed were doing the final mapping, they toasted that round the fast sweeping twisties of the circuit (much to his surprise ). Was absolutely hilarious, as the bike was in front as well . Apparantly, he had NEVER been overtaken by a car before .

But at least the bike rider is safe in the knowledge that he's only spent about Ł10k on his bike and the cossie has had Ł's spent on it

hi all, did anyone see my post yesterday/ i was up against a rs 500 and i was on my zx6r, thats 110 bhp, i said the rs500 was quick but gear for gear i passed him, now dont all forget thers lots of diff eliments when racin bikes to cars, i let the rs500 over take me so i new he was up for it , this was a flat road for miles and for a few seconds it was static so i new this car was very fast to nearly pace my bike but as we got up to the 130 mark he cud of slowed down u just dont no, i passed him and he was never far behind me

i raced a tvr cerbera on the way to work back end of last year, beat it to 110mph comfortably, then level pegging all the way to 155mph, from 155mph it left my gsxr600 and crept away

more cubes required - these days at leaset 1000cc is the minimum, and cars sub 40k's worth wont get a look in on the straight

Lol, Bike vs Car discussions make me laugh.

I love fast cars and fast bikes.
A car can't quite deliver the same adrenalin rush as a proper sportsbike tho

Here's a cool car v bike vid tho

I hate this power to pound shit, if the cossie cost 30k to build, and the bike 4k to buy, i know where the most effort, time and patience went into achieving the final product.
I have both a stage3 cossie and a 600 bandit(not a sports bike i know) but from 0-100 its not far behind me mates r6. The problem with cars racing bikes is that most bikers run out of talent rather than the bike running out of performance.
I am wanting a race with me mate on his r6 from 60 upwards and i know what the outcome will be. Both equal to about 120 then the cos will pull away. From a standstill a bike will fook off into the distance and hold a car off depending on how long the roaqd is.

pmsl at just how bitter and resentfull bikers are at not havin the crown on the roads anymore, these days you have to be on a big big bike to ensure a win against a reasonably tuned coz, in the old days a 600 would see off most cars but not now and boy oh boy do they hate it ive never heard such a load of nitpickin and fanny pluckin about where the winnin points can be scored over a car by a bike, tune the bike to match the tuned car.....you have a HUGE power to weight ratio advantage we have to try and compete with so thats bollox, ive raced a shitload of bikes and for watever reason be it a shit rider or lack of bottle they aint all that and you can quote all the figures you want , at the end of the day who is in front at the end of a race wins, end of!

just watched that gallardo vid against the duke 999, 0.44 second difference round the track, and tbh those gallardos are shit 1/4 mile times for the money 13.4 secs at the pod was his best against the 360 at central day a few weeks ago, so if you stuck a fast cozzy against it it would wup the bike as there were a fair few cozzys that were gettins 11's 12's up the 1/4

i have both - car and bike

if you want to go fast on the road the bike is teh only thing to use, less chance of being caught and more oppertunity to use it

ive raced a shitload of bikes and for watever reason be it a shit rider or lack of bottle they aint all that and you can quote all the figures you want , at the end of the day who is in front at the end of a race wins, end of!

ill race my car against your car............................................... ....................... straight race .............................

I'm not bitter, why be bitter as stated above it takes a lot of time, money, effort and patience to build a well capable cossie. I could go out and buy a gsxr1000 tomorrow. I appreciate the work that goes into cars and thats the thing that MOST bikes cant compete with. But give a GOOD rider a gsxr6 and a lot of 2wd cossie drivers would struggle if not be left for dead. Give me a busa tomorrow and i would get beaten by a good driver in a stage3 cossie imo. Biking is all about talent

mark for the second time on this sort of topic, read my posts properly, i said you need a big big bike to lash a tuned cozzy, yours is that very BIG BIG bike so does that not mean that i know you would win because yours is a big big bike, er yes it does tell ya one race ill race ya at , my car and your bike, lets see who's the fastest in reverse
