How do these Defi gauges wire up??
Ive picked up these defi,s today and to be honest i havnt got a clue as to where they link up to
some pics to maybe help,i dont have the control unit,is this needed for them to function properly
i think this is either the oil temp connector??
or maybe this one??
these are the gauges in question
these are the connections on the rear of the gauges, what connectors go where
i think i have this bit sussed,it looks like it takes a vacuum pipe off the plenum and converts the signal into an electrical output, but does it plug straight into the back off the gauge??
come on,lets hear what you have to say,or even better if anyone has any original installation booklets
cheers
jon
forgot to add, these are going on a subaru STI 7,and thats what they were taken off,the car was already in bits when i got to see it though

I thought you needed the Defi link control unit, but may be wrong.

Yes, you defo do need a Defi Link Control Unit.
As for connecting them, you cant really go wrong.
Each Sensor will only plug into its respective socket and the Gauges just 'Daisy Chain' together. There is a port on the Control Unit that connects to the first Gauge.
Then there should be a wiring loom for the Power to the system, which consists of the normal stuff, Live, Accessory Live, Earth and Lights.
Easy. But have you got all the bits??

OK, you should have.......
3 Gauges.
1 Control Unit
1 Sensor of some kind for each Gauge. The Black item in the last pic is the Boost sensor. I think you are missing the other 2 unless there are other items that you havent photographed.
1 Wire for each Sensor with a large plug on one end and a Small Plug on the other. I think these are what are in the top 2 pics. The small plug on the end of each cable will only fit into its correct port on the Control Unit.
1 Link Cable, probably about 2ft Long? (small White plug on each end). This goes from the Control Unit to the First Gauge.
2 Short'ish Link Cables (with small White Plug on each end). These link the subsequent gauges.
1 Power Harness. This has a Small white plug on one end and 4 Wires, which are the Electrical Supply connections for the system.
Yes, I can supply any bits that you need. Just show me exactly what bits you already have and I will fill in the blanks. Email them if you want.
