see how she drives!
ps keep your eye on the boost levels- you may need to back them off a little to return to where you were...

Wayne, I know I'd have to reduce boost level for sure

But ultimately, is it going to be ok to leave for a while

Does anyone on here know the real score with this?

Reason I'mm asking

I'll be going from a twin pass intercooler to a single pass intercooler

The difference in air volume will be quite subsantial - i.e different tuning levels

it will be ok for daily driving but if it was mine wouldn't be hammerin it til its proper set-up
if you change any characteristics of the runnin of the car it needs set up afterwards to gain its full potential
remember grs has a pressure drop of upto 4psi so your turbo is workin harder than its actually showin on your boost gauge, addin a pro alloy raises boost pressure so i'd get it set up as soon as you can mate

As jambo said really James.. I found I gained a few psi.. I took it easy on the road... Good it setup.. made sure enough fuel etc then gave it spuds

I drove about not set up, evryday for what must have been a good month or two.. So it will be fine, but done cain it too much. Ideally get it setup as soon as you can

It's been given stick for the last 3 yrs now and still not blown, I'd ideally like it to stay that way

Not bad for an 8 yr old engine now is it LOL

I wouldn't know that, only RR round here is SCA
Or I could get it all done at JamSport, but all work on the car been carried out by Gary - would be rude to end it just before it gets pulled apart for better things innit!

Its not just about how much more/less boost it makes. If the Intercooler flows differently to the GRS you may find that it comes onto boost earlier or later. If it comes on earlier, your MF2 may not be set up to cope with that.

Just a thought.

My boost gauge shows exactly what the turbo is doing
what so you mean your not taking the boost gauge feed from the inlet manifold and are using the compressor housing instead then

PS get it set up properly

If you are going from a Standard Intercooler to one that is much different, then a Fuelling Check/Setup is DEFINATELY recommended.

I think James thinks that because he is going from one large Front Mounted Intercooler to another Large Front Mounted Intercooler that he can get away with it.

Look at it this way......

If you are asking the question then thats because you realise that it may be a gamble, right?

You should only Gamble with as much as you can afford to lose.

Christian, you once again have guessed incorrectly

Being a Saturday I didn't want to disturb APT and your work...

Purely asking a simple question and yes I meant what you did when you say about flowing differently
I just said it in a different way

As regards to my GRS and 2x10in kenlowe fans - PM me
