My point is its far closer to the DTM car than most RS's are to a GrpA race car...
If any "race" style parts (ie the looks, brakes, engine, transmission) arnt classed as maxed up, the only bits that are is it has a flashy leather interior (like most cars), a big stereo system (like many cars), and hydraulics (which do nowt for the handling, but its a road/show car so big deal).
One things for sure, to your average person (ie non car fanatics) its a lot less boyracer than a modded RST...
I dont see why everyones having such a huffy slagging off fit about it

Depends what bits and what price Less.
I mean somthing that was seriously fire damaged I wouldnt use (like the interior), but dont seem that bad, youd obviously give it a good inspection before buying wouldnt you.
When it comes down to it its like melv said- depends what it flogs for, 7.5k is a good deal, but depends HOW far above that the reserve is.
7.5k any idiot could break it for spares and make a profit.
A bit more than that and its still a bargain for a Vauxhall fan.

True Steve but it been left to the elements so more damaged and yes any idiot could barake,but some of the parts are unquiqge to that veihicle.
How many of yer standard Vauxhall modders could fit 22inch wheels to theirs.
You think with his all his contacts etc he would have broke and got the money back,
Dont get me wrong was and amazing car but everyone that would be intretsed would know its history.P
Bascially you would have to start again from scratch so it it usless as the bits are worth the money the engine box wheels etc you would not be able to seel (imo)

Is there anything thats salvageable from that? Once The fire gets hold like it has the heat would be emense and i would guess anything with rubber seals etc in it would melt/warp and be fucked i.e engine, brakes, suspension etc.

You gotta appreciate the sheer workmanship in the shell alone... hours and hours IMO ...
I QUITE like the car... though would be better without all the stickers and the stupid lights...

If it would cost £20K to £30K to get it back to the way it was and the car has been valued at over £200K why aren't they doing it themselves?
