wont buy off ebuyer again!
hi all, i bought a 26inc lcd tv off ebuyer for 600 quid, and when it arrived it looked and worked well, then only after a couple of months the picture went funny so i had to send it back to germany, when it came back the letter said thay had changed the mainboard, so pluged it in and worked fine for a few weeks then it started acting funny again , so i thought right this time i wont a full refund ! and ebuyer said after 30 days you cant have your money back only another new tv, but i dont trust this tv anymore , its a video7 make thats badged as a goodmans in comet for the same price, just to say that 15 years ago i bought a 650.00 jvc 3dphonic and its never gone wrong and is still in use to-day
im now going to stick to.. sony ..samsung..jvc..
and just to say that samsung are one of the best as thay make 90% of the tubes and screens no matter what the brand in all tv,s
andzz

Those type of TVs are renowned for having problems, the seller has done nothing wrong especially if he is offering you a replacement.
However, if the person is a distributor and you have an official receipt for your purchase then you should be able to go direct to the manufacturer under the standard 1 year warranty and get a replacement TV.

The Sale of Goods act means the contract is between you and the retailer, not you and the manufacturer.
You are entitled to a refund if the item is not of merchantable quality and the 1 year makers warranty doesn't have any bearing on how long those rights exist.
Get yourself onto the website for the Dept of Trade and Industry - all the details are in there somewhere. I found it very useful in my dispute with Currys when they wanted to give me a refund and I wanted a repair or replacement (bought an Ł899 telly on boxing day for Ł500, then it broke and they didn't want to give me one at full price). I won and got a new telly!
