Default stopping certain programmes starting on start up?

i just downloaded a peer to peer programme and everytime my computer starts up this loads up aswell and its pissing me off!!

Theres an option that ive unticked asking if i want it to start up automatically but that hasnt had any effect.

click the start button on the bottom bar, then follow this

Start--->Programs---->Startup

and then delete what you don't want to start

Or, start -> run type in msconfig and click on ok, click on the startup tab and untick the p2p program you don't want to load
