Default V5 on car purchase.

May have a FRST to view this eve on our way to the PF meet. The guy selling says he only has the bottom half of the V5 and can't tell me how many former keepers the car has had.

Do you reckon it's worth a look or steer clear and keep looking?

I'd make a decision once i'd seen the car in the flesh. Likle Rudey says, it might be good 'un.... hopefully If its not too far, cant hurt.

Without the top part of the V5 he cannot prove that the car is his to sell, also it'll cost you Ł19 to get a new one.

Use this website

www.dvla.gov.uk/vehiclelicence

to check when the last change of keeper was, it may be totally legit but I would defo be wary.

So he should have got the new V5 within 2 weeks of this (check the date the last V5 was issued on that website).

Then ask him what his reason is for not having it? Also make sure its the new style V5, as the way you have worded that above "the bottom bit" makes it sound like the old style one which this car defo would not have if they only changed keepers in April!

steve it just means hes one of the many drivers that dont have cars registered to him in order to save being given shite loads of fines ect

cheack former owners on rac website and have a look at it

lets be honest though, its for a daily driver so aslogn as its mint and not a snotter then buy it even if its had 30 owners

sports cars tend to have lots of owners anyway tbh, most people buy em for th summer or buy em they go wrong or buy em meet a bird, get her up the duff and then sell to pay for baby shite

ive never given a shit about owners as its irelevent to me personally, my old orion with me personal plate had 2 former owners, when jim added his name to it there was 3 on there

the car happens to be totally stipped and in bits though

just have a look and then look in the paperwork side of things

Rudey filled in the logbook I sent it off where the fooking went I dont know.

Its shiows a change of keeper when Rudey brought it,even went to the local DVLA office too ask where the logbook went.

But they wouldnt tell me or my mum due to the data protection act
