Default Postage from USA - Can it be traced........

I bought something from the US, which was shipped around 18th May. The seller told me that it was shipped via 'U.S. Postal Service Global Priority Mail'. He said that he could only track it whilst in the USA.

I still haven't received the parcel. Is this normal? If not, can I check with Customs or something to make sure it isn't sitting in a dark corner or something?

hi , us postal system is a joke , you can only track it if they have given you a number but as you say only untill it leaves the us , same applies to our system when parcels leave the uk ,its on its own , just keep your fingers crossed . i get a lot of mail etc from usa and 99 percent get here ok .
its still early days yet if sent on the 18th

I have had no probs before. Have seen stuff from USA and Australia within 3-4 days before. Maybe this one has been caught up in Customs.

Matt, thats probably why yours was quick, Customs didn't bother with it.

Try and get on the blower armed with a tracking number. I had a parcel sent using the US Postal Service and after it being a week overdue I traced it to the local Royal Mail depot where they were waiting for me to pay import duty, but they only send you a letter to tell you this, which can take ages to arrive!

I've had stuff shipped to me from the UK and it's pretty much the same, about a week to seven days. I have however had items shipped to me and it has taken as much as four weeks, one package that I paid for back in Feb. is still not here

It turned up this morning!!!

Didn't miss Customs though, and because there was a charge, I had to go and collect it from the Central Office in Norwich. Thats nice, I thought I paid for delivery to my house!!

Oh well, at least its here now.

Thanks.
