Hey all,

Have a mk1 mondeo 2.0 93, and have found that when the engine is running, it is burning through its coolant rapidily. No trace of water in the oil, and have noted steam emitting from the exhaust even when up to temp and on idle.

Also seems to hunt when idle, any help will be great..

head gasket faiure, coolant jacket cracked between valves also a posibility.

 

Yep, agree, if you get someone to blip the throttle you'll see spatters of water on the floor too.

Hunting on Mondeos is common, normally either a wonkey plug in most cases or failing ISC valve.

 

Thanks, Thought it could of been the HG but wasn't sure as the oil seems to be ok, does smoke a lot but it has always smoked since I bypassed the UGR Valve as yes it's a common fault that makes the zetecs hunt!
