Shit mate.
But as you told me last night, the B piller and the sills seem straight still so it shouldnt be too hard to fix.
I only let the mrs drive my car, maybe I shouldnt lol

HPI odesn't tell you about any accident a vehicle may have had just if iuts been decared uneconomical repair.. or say for example the car was stolen, insurance company pay out, then write car off, but a couple weeks later it gets recovered, it will be a CAT D write off on HPI...
SMIT... as per Rossco (Im glad someone else believes the same as me)... DO NOT let them reskin... You will have a bit of a battle, but dont accept reskins, IMO I'd rather have a couple of good S/Hand doors rather than reskin.... Only problem is pushing for brand new doors, may push the price up too far and make it elidgable for write off.. so be careful just play it by ear, you are in a fortunate position in that third party has admitted liability and ultimately will be paying for it ... good luck

Very sorry to hear that Smit,i bet your mum was equally as gutted as you
I was gutted when mine was in a state but im sure you can get it sorted and atleast the other man has admitted it his fault.
All the best

Well.....
went to get it looked at today at a Ford garage...Bloke knew what the car was straight away..Checked everything on the car...Tyres/Numbers/tax etc etc and took a few pictures...
They are getting back to me soon on whether they just need the pictures he took as evidence enough to get it fixed....Otherwise an Engineer is going to come round my house and have a look hinself.
Apparently the engineer uses a certain book to give 'Book price' on the car...
The good thing is the stupid book he is going to use doesn't list a 'Sierra Sapphire 4x4 Cosworth'
So i'm gonna blag it, just hope he buys it and and i get my car fixed
Ross/Damo - I Urgently requested new door not a reskin...after my 5 mins of shouting they gave in

Smit, the special book is usually Glass's and it's fookin shite for these sorts of cars. It was this book they got Ł1100 from for my bro's FRST and Ł500 for my missus 2i. A lot of fighting and screaming eventually got things sorted on both counts but it wasn't easy

an idea for ya, when my series 1 got written off ( it was a concours car) the assessor asked me if i had any car mags ie performance/fast ford so he could get an accurate price for it, valued it at 4750 in the end and i kept the car on the promise that i would destroy the shell. i got lucky turns out the assessors son was into S1's and anything ford so there maybe a happy ending for you too, if he under values it may be worth showing similar spec cars for sale on here maybe? and arguing ur point.
Good luck buddy

On the bright side, your car is probably worth more in bits anyway, so if they write it off, just buy it back and repair it yourself .. then you got yer car which you know and love back... plus hopefully a tidy sum of cash, then when it comes to getting rid it wont bother you thatit is on the hit list, cos you will be selling it in bits anyway... ???

Fuck, didnt see this before.
I know it wasnt your mams fault, but i only ever let people drive cars of mine if they used to that sort of performance and NEVER on their own.
Looks relativley easy repairable tho, and glad it was jus a VW camper van and not somthing better built...

Just seen the pics today Mark as I have been away.
Gutted for you is an under statement. Hope it gets fixed as you want it even though they never are the same in your mind.
Glad to hear your Mum is ok though. When I saw the pictures I thought that your mum had forgotten about the turbo and it had come on boost strongly and side stepped out.
