Help Needed Fitting Oil Guages - S2 Escort RST
Just got my new guages through and am gonna have a go at fitting them myself. I've got an Oil Pressure and Oil Temp guage with the associated wiring and pressure sender. Now as far as I'm aware the pressure guage wires into the oil pressure switch - whereabouts is this located on the Series 2 Escort?
The Oil temp is apparently a bit more complicated. I've been advised that you need to weld a nut onto the sump to connect the sender. Is this the only option as I've seen you can get some sort of replacement sump plug allowing for the temp sensor.
Any help/pictures would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Ben

oil pressure switch is on the back of the block. not too far from the oil filter if memory serves correct.
u're right about oil temp. either option works. just depends what u wanna do.

If ur gauges r autometer 1's u will need ass follows. 4 the oil pressure u will need a boss from burton power 2 accept ur std oil press switch 2gether with the new 1. and as 4 the oil temp as i said if it is an auto meter 1 it will screw directly into the sump replacing the sump plug. not a lot of peeps know thta on here as put a post up when i was doin mine and no1 knew it directly replaced it
hope this helps u mate

Thanks for the info guys - been very useful!
Never thought that the adapter supplied would actually replace the sump plug! I'll have a go at getting it all wired up at the weekend and get some pics up when done.
Thanks again

Ben i read in a previous post that using some ptft tape on the thread is a good idea to stop any nasty leaks, im fitting an oil pressure gauge soon so some pics of the job would be very handy.

Sorry i mean ptfe tape, is the thin white tape that plumbers use , wrap a bit round the thread on the bolt and when its tightened up it will create a nice seal. Available from all good hardware/plumbers merchants.
Hope this helps, like i said its something i read but it sounds good to me.
